Position Summary:

Our Desk Attendants are our “air traffic controllers” —greeting guests in person and by phone and relaying details about our venues, pricing, and promotions/specials. You’ll tackle a host of guest needs—providing our customers with the proper equipment; ensuring that this equipment is clean and organized; managing customer flow, tracking lane availability, and maximizing lane usage; and following all cash-control procedures when ringing sales at the front counter. You’ll also be in charge of monitoring the flow of walk-in customers versus those with reservations, taking names and delivering pagers for guests on our waiting list, and casually suggesting/selling food & beverage or access to our games (like our pool tables, etc.) while our guests are waiting for a lane.

Primary Duties and Responsibilites

  • Greet guests as the enter the building and assist them with bowling or billiards. Offer bowling instruction when requested
  • Troubleshoot, identify and handle lane malfunction calls; including operation of lane intercom
  • Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated
  • Assist guests with picking appropriate bowling ball
  • Retrieve dead balls and dead wood
  • Clean up tables on bowling lane for quick lane turnover
  • Responsible for concourse table set up
  • Maintain on an ongoing basis throughout the shift, the cleanliness of the bowl desk, parking lot, restrooms and bowling lanes
  • Maintain lane turnover per company policies
  • Perform all applicable opening, mid-day or closing preparation, cleaning and maintenance duties according to the requirements of the shift worked
  • Attend all scheduled meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or directed by Company management

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Ability to operate computer, cash register and credit card verification equipment
  • A minimum of 6 months prior job experience with cash handling and public interaction responsibilities is preferred
  • Basic reading & math skills
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational ability; ability to work under pressure amid distractions and interruptions
  • Possess good customer relations abilities, outgoing and friendly manner, courteous and cooperative attitude, team oriented
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Well-groomed and neat appearance
